Chatham Dance Connection

was founded in the fall of 2008 by Chatham County resident, Ebony Grissett-Delgado. Ebony has studied dance from a very young age at Dance Showcase in Shallotte, NC and North Myrtle Beach, SC. She is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill, where she danced with the school's official dance team "The High Kickin' Heels" as well as African American dance troupe, OPEYO!

What started out as a program for about 25 students in an after school facility, Chatham Dance Connection has grown to 100 students in their own studio space. The dance studio is located on the backside of the Piggly Wiggly Shopping Center. Classes are taught in the areas of ballet, tap, jazz, creative movement, acrobatics, lyrical, hip hop and clogging. Students range from age 2 through adults.

Chatham Dance Connection started their own performance and competition company, Extensions, three years ago. Auditions are held each spring and the selected company members perform in the community and compete at regional and national competitions. Extensions Dance Company has won multiple awards including first place national awards and choreography awards for their performances.

Chatham Dance Connection will be performing their own version of the holiday classic, The Nutcracker, in December. The show will not only include ballet dancers, but dancers from all genres of dance. The show will be fun and entertaining for the whole family. Please visit the studio website at www.chathamdanceconnection.com for more information.

Chatham Dance Connection is currently holding fall registration. If you are interested in classes with them, please visit the website or contact Ebony at (910)540-8679 or (919)542-1882. She can also be reached via email at chathamdanceconnnection@embarqmail.com.
